Did you know that March is slow food cooking month? Sandy Lawler: Chef/Owner of FEAST (Fabulous Eating at Sandy's Table) write CITYPEEK on facebook (Find us @ CITYPEEK Patti & CITYPEEK group):Restaurants that participate in the Local Challenge(technically: Slow Food Baltimore, Eat in Season Challenge,) are challenged to use food that is locally grown, or, as in so much of our case this time of year, preserved from last year's bounty(beans, tomatoes, corn). FEAST took the "March" challenge, which is reflected in our menu all month. CITYPEEK is previewing some of the specials this evening for a private tasting! A few NEW Baltimore bars & restaurants of note: Baltimore's FEDERAL HILL: TAVERNA CORVINO Restaurant & Bar -now in Test Kitchen status under advisement & supervision of Chef Patternotte of VIN fame.  Taverna Corvino replaces the spot where Junior's Wine Bar & Vespa were located. http://www.citypeek.com/baltimore/dining   Same owners/managers as above and also Ryleigh's oyster (where Sisson's was) have opened Baltimore's new Billabong Dive Bar where Turner's was on E. Another Baltimore Hotel Restaurant opening quietly next week is 17 Light Restaurant & Lounge, located in the Residence Inn by Marriott Baltimore Downtown/Inner Harbor.

LA TALARA opening late April in Harbor East. Will feature latin tapas. Gorgeous food preparations and fine service viewed at recent City Paper Cosmic Cocktail event.. GM, Nick Rizzo, Chef/Owner Yves Carreau.

Also sampled a sip of beer from the new PRATT STREET ALE HOUSE Bar & Restaurant that replaces the Baltimore Wharf Rat Bar & Restaurant across from the Hilton Convention Center Hotel. If you know about there food, pls comment to us below or on facebook.
