Ocean City MD celebrates w/ Susan Jones-Tourism Person of the Year!

CONGRATULATIONS to Susan Jones, Executive Director of the Ocean City Hotel- Motel-Restaurant Associationfor being recognized at the Maryland Tourism & Travel Summit as the Tourism Person of the Year for the state of Maryland!This is the highest honor bestowed at the conference and Susan was unanimously chosen as this year's recipient. Her hard work and dedication to tourism has furthered our organization, our community, and is now being recognized at the state level.

And also---scoop the following! New Ocean City Convention Center director selected   Rick J. Hamilton has been named the new Director of the Roland E. Powell Convention Center in Ocean City . 

Hamilton has spent more than 30 years associated with the public facility assembly industry, serving most recently as senior vice president of business development of FM Convention Contractors in Orlando . FM is a supplier of convention decorating services to tradeshows and associations throughout the United States .

Prior to this, Hamilton was the director of the Ocean Center Arena and Convention Center in Daytona Beach for 17 years. In this position, he was responsible for the facility’s marketing, budget, personnel, capital projects, bookings, contracts and operations. The facility includes a 10,000-seat arena and 164,000 square feet of meeting space. “We are very pleased to welcome Rick to Ocean City ,” said City Manager Dennis Dare. “He brings a wealth of experience in convention center facility management and marketing.”
