BALTIMORE CHEFS invade the world renown Le Bec Fin! Pictured: CITYPEEK.com Patti Neumann, Chefs Georges Perrier and dear ami, Chef Gerard Billebaut, French Over/Bonjour Bakery. CITYPEEK Patti is thrilled to share details of our intimate Baltimore Chef Dinner @ world renown, Philadelphia's LE BEC FIN she helped plan with Gerard Billebault (yes, Bonjour is on Falls Road) and go to Le Bec Fin in Philadelphia (Gayle B, we missed you!) Chefs joining were: Chef Joshua Hill (opening a Memphis style bar-b-que spot one block from the old McCabe's Spot soon. Also, The old McCabe's is soon to reopen by owners of Sonar Club-but I stray), Chef Christine deLuti( leaving Dogwood for alizee in a few weeks, Chef Christian is visionary!), Chef Sandra Lawler, FEAST @ 4 EAST Madison Inn, (BYOB Baltimore Restaurant), Chef John, Dogwood, Chef Scott E., Frank n Nic's Grille, Chef Dara Bunjon, confessed 'foodie' critic, cook for an exclusive wine dinner (Find her Cookbook YUM!) prepared especially for a Baltimore contingency. Guests are thrilled to be part of the experience at one of the USA's top restaurants. Change for my pal, Chef Christian deLutis (pictured next ot CITYPEEK.com Patti) in prior blog we reported the SCOOP--deLutis leaving Dogwood for Executive Chef position at alizee bistro and wine bar. After each ordering a drink in the bar with Chef Georges Perrier himself--most had the house champagne ($20/glass)names after Chef Perrrier, a sorta mix between Gloria Ferrer and Moet, The dining room was packed and we were whisked back to the bustling KITCHEN to meet Chef Jon and his staff. Yup, the kitchen of Le Bec Fin. We saw the preperation andpresentation of a new lobster appetizer dish on its premiere voyage to the dining room. Then we (18 of us @ $175/person) headed to a private room for our intimate 6 course dinner paired with wines. Memorable--The scallop appetizer and sweet pea soup w/ crushed almonds lacing the bottom of the bowl. These apps paired with a sauvignon blanc. One word, YUM! We had grilled octupus, lamb, cheese plates, cruchy baguettes and the famed dessert cart where you had your choice of any or all 12 choices! Chef Georges Perrier, LE BEC FIN! Oh-you gotta love this-the men were off directly after dinner to go get a Philly Cheesesteak--I kid you not!!! SCOOP-BALTIMORE THE PRIME RIB IS CLOSED BUT only on Monday nights in Baltimore. Anyone know about DC or Philadelphia The Prime Rib's? We love eating there at the bar. Dining room for special occasions--the true supper club restaurant--The Prime Rib Steakhouse. Sullivan's is more casual, but also has a jazzy feel. And we love The Capital Grille anywhere--wine by the glass list is great.
