The Second Annual Badges of Honor 5K Run will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Fairmount Park (in front of the Please Touch Museum). The race was established to strengthen the relationship between Philadelphia’s Public Safety employees and the communities they heroically serve while raising money for a great cause. In honor of Philadelphia’s fallen heroes, 2,500 runners are expected to participate. The proceeds will go to the Survivor’s Fund and will defray the cost related to Philadelphia police officers, firefighters and correctional officers who died in the line of duty.

Crush, a family friendly event a Thames Street Park, to benefit the Tyanna Foundation, will be held Sunday, May 16, 2010 from 1pm to 6pm. Includes delicious food from Fells Point area restaurants, beer, wine, crushes, raffles, live music and children's entertainment.

The Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is hosting its annual Promise Ball on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel (1200 Market Street) starting at 6:00 PM. The 2010 Promise Ball will honor JDRF Founder, Lee Ducat; corporate honoree, Good Neighbor Pharmacy and acknowledge JDRF’s 40th Anniversary.

The City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program is hosting its annual Wall Ball fundraising event on Thursday, May 6, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel (1200 Market Street). Each year, Wall Ball celebrates the Mural Arts Program and its commitment to bringing vibrancy, culture and beauty to the walls of Philadelphia.
