Say good bye to the turtle and hello to the rooster as, Iron Rooster, has inked a deal for approximately 7000 square feet within McHenry Row, a mixed-use project located off Key Highway in South Baltimore's Locust Point neighborhood. Named by OpenTable as one of the Top 100 Brunch Restaurants in the Country and by The Baltimore Sun's Top 10 Brunches in Baltimore, the nearly three-year old restaurant concept will occupy the former Greene Turtle and Piaza space in Summer 2017.
The first Rooster joint, in Annapolis, is a local hotspot, is also open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. It is one of my go-to restaurants by the Annapolis Main Street area, where I first vidited in 2015, and had brunch savoring a housemade bloody with homemade infused vodka. I was led to the spot by Annapolitan friends.

Did someone say Bacon? Iron Rooster offers a creative array of breakfast items including fried chicken and waffles and homemade pop tarts, benedicts, omelets, pancakes, waffles and French toast that is available all day. Traditional lunch and dinner entrées include sandwiches such as pulled pork, as well as country fried meatloaf, chicken pot pie and shrimp and grits.
The McHenry Row location represents the second in Baltimore City for Iron Rooster, joining a site on Boston Street in Canton, and fourth overall, with additional locations-the original- in the Annapolis and the Hunt Valley. Approximately 100 full and part-time employees are expected to work at the restaurant.

As evidenced by our other locations, we intend to be extremely active in and supportive of the local community. Baltimore is extremely prideful. We are energized by that trait and we constantly search for ways to become engaged with residents and businesses.”
McHenry Row, a 20-acre mixed-use project, is being developed by 28 Walker Development. It contains 250 apartment units, commercial office space, a Harris Teeter grocery store and complementary restaurants and retailers. Locally-operated tenants at the project are Samos Greek Island Grill and Diamondback Brewing Company.
