Where can you go and expect to see the creme de la creme of the regional hospitality industry--the group that runs the areas hotels, restaurants and entertainment venues?  Next week's  15th annual Academy Awards 2010 to benefit the National Academy Foundation High School on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel will gather such a strong group. as it recognizes professionals in hospitality & tourism, law, finance and information technology.

Baltimore will host 700 professionals to celebrate the accomplishments of their peers at its largest fundraising event of the year. It should be noted that this event is orchestrated solely by hospitality industry executives. The Chairs of this years event are Julie Brown-Edwards of Baltimore TREMONTS and Lee JOHNSON of HARBOR MAGIC HOTELS. The industry event honors professionals in each of NAF’s industries of interest: hospitality & tourism, law, finance and information technology.  This years event boasts an online live auction orchestrated by Tyese Thornton of ROY's Restaurant, with items pre-marketed--check some of them out HERE

Guests from hotel executive teams, to restaurateurs to all areas of the Maryland regional attraction and entertainment will  come together to enjoy music, live and silent auctions, and cuisine from more than two dozen of the area's most celebrated chefs and caterers, with a special table where NAF students will prepare and serve a menu planned by their peers.

Tickets to the 15th annual Academy Awards 2010 are $100 per person, $125 day of event and supports programs, career development opportunities, and scholarships for NAF students. NAF prepares more than 350 students each year for careers in hospitality & tourism, law, finance and information technology through work-based learning curriculum and experiences, and partnerships with local business and industry professionals. The unique curriculum emphasizes both academic excellence and career training with traditional classroom instruction, internships, and job shadowing.

Currently NAF boasts of 100% graduation of its senior class for four years running. For the past four years, 100% of seniors have also been accepted into two and four year colleges and universities. In addition to these impressive statistics, NAF standardized test scores have become among the best in the Baltimore city school system. The NAF academies rest on a bedrock of experienced business partners and teaching staff. As a collective, the NAF high school community changes students’ lives.
