The 2nd annual Komen Maryland Ocean City Race for the Cure 5K and 1 Mile Fun Walk will be held Sunday, April 21, 2013 at the Ocean City Inlet Parking Lot (807 South Atlantic Avenue; Ocean City, MD 21842). The Race Village opens @ 6:00am, warm-ups begin @ 7:15am, and the 5K course opens @ 8:00am. The Awards Ceremony will be held @ 10:00am. Participants are encouraged to use the Park & Ride and Ocean City Transit Services: (http://oceancitymd.gov/Public_Works/transportation.html).

Bring your friends, families and co-workers to enjoy a fun-filled day enjoying gorgeous landscape of the Eastern Shore, while helping the American Diabetes Association to raise awareness and critical funds for diabetes research, education and advocacy to improve the lives of all people affected by this disease.

As part of NKF-MD’s mission of early detection and early intervention, this KEY (Kidneys: Evaluate Yours) screening will identify early markers for high blood pressure, diabetes and kidney disease. No appointments are needed for the screening and any adult can participate. Lasting about 20 minutes, the screening includes a blood test, as well as blood pressure and weight checks.

Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. This all-age, all-ability event is full of activities and entertainment for the whole family.

Come and visit the beach for a day, an overnight, or better still, the entire week for dining out-heaven. Restaurant week features fabulous 3-course dinners all over town. Restaurants will be offering menus with $30 or $20 prix-fixe dinners for a full week in June. Some restaurants are even serving special lunch menus at $10 & $15.
