The  Gala,  in  collaboration  with  the  Embassy  of  Jamaica,  is  the culminating  event  marking  JNA’s  50th  anniversary  with  the  theme “Celebrating  50  Years  of  Service  and  Embracing  Change.”  Since  its inception in 1969, JNA has been serving the Jamaican community both in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area and back home in Jamaica. Her Excellency Audrey P. Marks, Ambassador of Jamaica to the United States  of  America,  will  be  in  attendance.  Caribbean-born  Maureen Bunyan, Emmy Award-winning broadcast journalist will be the Mistress of Ceremonies.

Get crackin’ at The Arc Baltimore’s 18th Annual Art in the Round – the art exhibit and auction showcasing the talent and artistry of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Featuring 80 pieces of art on exhibit representing more than 60 artists, this year’s crab-themed Art in the Round will be held from 7-10:30 p.m. on Friday, October 18 at the Grand Lodge of Maryland (304 International Circle, Hunt Valley, MD).

With summer flying by, the date for Point Breeze Credit Union’s Second Annual “The Harvest” Golf Tournament is right around the corner.

Benefitting the Maryland Food Bank, “The Harvest” Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, September 16 at Hayfields Country Club (700 Hayfields Road, Hunt Valley, MD).

The cost for foursomes who sign up for “The Harvest” before August 15 will be $800 – a $100 discount from the standard charge of $225 per golfer, or $900 per foursome. Registration costs include greens fees, cart, beverages, lunch, and dinner.

The National Kidney Foundation Serving Maryland and Delaware will provide this free screening to educate about the kidneys, risk factors for kidney disease, and steps to take to keep kidneys healthy and reduce risk.

Appointments are not required and any adult can participate. Lasting about 20 minutes, the check-up includes the following: a risk survey, body mass index, height and weight measurements; blood pressure check, blood draw to check kidney function, free educational materials and an opportunity to speak with a health care professional and dietician.

A repeatedly sold out event with over 200 guests, Flip Flop Festivus offers an elegant night on the town in a resort casual atmosphere.
