Matt Haley, Restaurant icon, Philanthropist from Rehoboth Dies in Motorcycle Crash in India

Tragedy hits the Mid Atlantic restaurant scene, as Rehoboth, Delaware restaurateur, philanthropist and just month's ago awarded the James Beard Award for Humanitarian of the Year Award 2014, Matt Haley has died from injuries suffered in a motocycle accident while touring Northern India.

I went to the soft opening toni of Seasons 52 in Columbia, MD, more out of knowledgeable curiosity than in search of a free meal. I have been folloing the fast pace of one of the country's growing restaurant chains created under the umbrella of The Das got this place in tip top shape. So proud of everything she has accomplished here.

Annapolis Craft Beer and Music Festival returns for 3rd year

Having just spent the weekend shopping and dining around the Annapolis City Dock, I was pleased to see the return of one of the famed citywide festivals- 3rd annual Annapolis Craft Beer and Music Festival Saturday, September 13, 2014, noon-6 pm at The Navy-Marine Corps Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland.

Party on the Hard Rock Cafe Baltimore Pier like a Rock Star

 

Recently, I was invited to enjoy happy hour like a Rock Star, or so I have been told from my friends at Hard Rock Cafe Baltimore, at the recently opened Hard Rock Pier. Nestled just by the front of Power Plant and the bridge that connects Pier 4 to Pier 6 at the Inner Harbor, the newest al fresco, floating pier, is a great backdrop for end of the day festivities.

 

Behind the Yada, Yada Yada of Seinfeld

Calling all Seinfeld fans. Baltimore County’s Gordon Center for Performing Arts welcomes comedy writer Peter Mehlman on Thursday, September 18 at 7 pm. Mehlman will talk about his eight years as a Seinfeld writer and co-executive producer, and his new novel, It Won’t Always Be This Great. Mehlman’s appearance at the Gordon is a homecoming of sorts, as he is a graduate of University of Maryland, as is his novel’s protagonist.
