Did you know that many of the world renown Champagne Houses of France have 'family' properties in California's wine country? This is because the terroir and cool-to-moderate climate of areas like, the Los Carneros AVA, which occupies space in both Sonoma and Napa Valley's, matches the perfectly to climate of the Champagne, France. In this case, Tattinger's California sister, Domaine Carneros' makes stellar examples of sparkling wine, pinot noir and chardonnays in Northern California.

New to living in Napa, California, I venture out to sample wine tasting experiences, as much as possible. I had such a lovely visit to Domaine Carneros, (my server was Josiah), that I returned the following week, to buy bubbles and pinot noir, to send home for our family Thanksgiving feast. I revisited the brut rose #RoseAllDay), double disgorged, Note, the double disgourged, adds more toasty and yeasty notes, a delicious mouthful of bubbles. The 2011 vintage Le Rêve, landed in my glass. ooohlala. Is is not called "the dream" for a reason. Their bubbles vary in taste, creaminess and price; all are very worthy enough to bear the name Tattinger on its label.

I adored Le Ciel Serein (serene sky) 2015 pinot noir 2015. This single estate pinot noir will be positioned close to my seat at the Turkey Feast.

The cheese plate is a treat. But one of the best treats, is the outstanding view on the veranda, at the top of a flight of steps, that could compete with Rome’s Spanish steps. Wow, a stunner of vistas surround the chateau, where you can sit out side, relax, sip, and get educated on world class sparkling wines. Reservations are not needed, but suggest on weekends, it gets very busy.
