The Iraqi Children Foundation (ICF), a 501 (c) (3) charity, is hosting its Fourth Annual IN THEIR SHOES 5K Run/Walk to benefit Iraq's most vulnerable children – its orphans, street children and kids fleeing ISIS. Funds raised through the 5K are invested in emotional care for traumatized children, access to education for children displaced by violence, providing nutrition and health care, legal aid, and more. The mission of ICF is to assist the families and communities of Iraq by mobilizing a life changing Surge of Love for these desperately poor and at risk children.

Friends of the National Arboretum (FONA) is holding its 26th annual Garden Fair and Plant Sale on April 29 and 30. Held in conjunction with Arbor Day, this year’s event has been relocated to the heart of the Arboretum by the National Capitol Columns, Azalea Collection and the Grove of State Trees, allowing attendees to see more of what is blooming on the grounds as they shop for traditional favorites and rare plants from nurseries across the country, including everything from perennials, annuals and heirloom vegetables to many rare and new offerings.
