In memory of Gene Wilder, National Harbor will have a special showing of the classic family movie, “Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory” on Monday September 5 at 2 p.m. on the Waterfront Plaza (157 National Plaza, National Harbor, Md 20745).

On Saturday, September 10th, Brompton will host its second #BUCDC in partnership with BicycleSPACE, sponsored by OrtliebAkin to a two-wheeled scavenger hunt, the Brompton Urban Challenge tests the creativity and ingenuity of its participants as they explore their city, interpreting clues, and completing challenges, all from the seat of their bikes. What better way to end the summer than by joining your fellow DC Bromptoneers and exploring the city on two wheels?

Fairfax Corner (11900 Palace Way, 22030) will hold its popular annual Fashion NoVA event on Saturday, Sept. 17 from noon until 2 p.m. with light bites, complimentary beauty treatments, exclusive one-day shopping offers (including purchase of the fabulous looks seen on the runway), and other offers and giveaways. The latest looks for fall from your favorite Fairfax Corner stores hit the runway at 1 p.m. when the fashion show gets underway with emcees Sarah Fraser (host of Hey Frase podcast and weekly contributor on FOX5 DC) and Samy K (they’ll be available from noon to 1 p.m.

National Harbor announced today that it will host the Carhartt Fashion Show on Sunday, Aug. 28 at 4 p.m. on the waterfront plaza at National Harbor. The event will benefit Hero Dogs, a 501(c)3 organization in Maryland that raises, trains and places service dogs with veterans—at no cost to the veteran. Hero Dogs will be on hand with some of their dogs in-training and some of the organization’s dog handlers and their children will model Carhartt fashions. Markette Sheppard, with WUSA9’s Great Day Washington, will emcee the event.

National Harbor is proud to announce that it will broadcast Olympic coverage on the waterfront plaza at National Harbor (157 National Plaza, National Harbor, Md. 20745) beginning Friday, Aug. 5 at 7:30 p.m. The first 30 minutes of coverage will be silent as the venue has a D.J. onsite until 8 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets and food. Alcohol is not allowed. Pets are allowed as long as they are leashed and owners pick up after them. Tents are not allowed. National Harbor has a large, movie screen situated right on the waterfront at the property.
