In a special event to honor Hispanic Heritage Month, Author and Captain Frank Gamboa will present ¡El Capitán!, The Making of an American Naval Officer. ¡El Capitán!, a memoir by Captain John Frank Gamboa, U.S. Navy (Retired), describes the challenges he overcame to enter the U.S. Naval Academy in 1954, graduate in 1958, and be commissioned an Ensign in the Navy Line. The lecture is part of the Navy Memorial’s “Authors on Deck” book lecture series. Following the presentation, Frank Gamboa will be available for a Q&A and book signing.
