The Oval the new “Park on the Parkway,” will officially kick-off its summer season’s Music Series Saturdays. The Oval will host a variety of music related activities and events including YIP Sumer Jam 3.0 presented by Young Involved Philly which will feature DJs, an open bar, art auction, and prizes. Tickets are $25 ahead of time or $30 at the door. 98.1WOGL will kick-off The Oval’s Saturday Music Concert Series Mummers style with the Ferko String Band. Food trucks will be in attendance on site. 

The Oval the new “Park on the Parkway,” will officially kick-off its summer season’s Food and Flicks Friday. The Oval will host a variety of food related events throughout the day. Greener Partners will host Farm Explorer, The English Beat! will perform live, followed by the movie screening of Awesome Fest’s Ferris Buller’s Day Off. Food trucks will be on site. 

The Oval the new “Park on the Parkway,” will officially kick-off its summer season’s Thursday Environment Programming. The Oval will host environmental activities throughout the day, beginning with nature-themed stories and songs hosted by The Free Library of Philadelphia. The Franklin Institute will present Liquid Nitrogen Demonstrations and Fairmount Water Works will host an architecture workshop for people of all ages. At night the Winners Oval will be in attendance with delicious treats. There will also be a beer garden with DJ and games.

Philadelphia Parks & Recreation in partnership with the Fairmount Park Conservancy debuts the City of Philadelphia’s new “Park on the Parkway.” Located on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway as Philadelphia’s own “Avenue des Champs-Élysées,” Eakins Oval will be transformed from a parking space into “The Oval,” full of community programming and activities for people and families of all ages to enjoy.
