The American Swedish Historical Museum’s invites you to our fifth edition of the museum’s popular meatball contest. Enter your meatballs for a chance at culinary glory and see if your meatballs are the greatest of them all! Or come to savor the delicious entries of area restaurants and vote for your favorite restaurant meatball!

Taproom on 19th (2400 S 19th Street) is on the search for Philly’s best meatballs and gravy. Come cheer on the contestants at Taproom’s 2nd Annual Gravy Contest on Sunday, October 4, 2015, from 5:00 to 8:00pm. Celebrity judges will pick the best meatballs and best gravy served up from top chefs, home cooks, bloggers, food critics and South Philly locals. The winner will get bragging rights, a cash prize, plus pancetta and guanciale from 1732 Meats. Bar specials will include $3 Lagers, $10 Chetty pitchers, $2.5 Millers, half price wings and more.  Admission is free.

Valley Forge Casino Resort (1160 First Avenue) welcomes Chicago frontman and solo star Peter Cetera on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at 8:00pm (doors open 7:00pm) during Valley Forge Music Fair. Penning and singing lead vocals on Chicago’s first No. 1 single “If You Leave Me Now,” Cetera helped propelled the group into the worldwide spotlight. The Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter will perform timeless hits that helped him define an era of American rock music. Tickets are on sale for $45 to $75 on Ticketmaster.

GRAMMY award-winner Kenny Rogers brings his Once Again It’s Christmas Tour, featuring Linda Davis, to Valley Forge Casino Resort (1160 First Avenue) on Saturday, December 18, 2015. Nineteen years after performing the farewell concert for the original Valley Forge Music Fair, Rogers returns for the Fair’s grand revival. Rogers will perform holiday favorites, plus many of the 24 number one singles the country-pop singer has recorded throughout his 50-plus-year career.
