This Father’s Day – Sunday, June 19, 2011 – Prostate Health International (PHI) will host the “Gary Papa Run,” PHI’s 9th annual Father’s Day Prostate Run. This event is named in honor of 6ABC’s former Sports Director and longtime PHI supporter, Gary Papa, who lost his battle to prostate cancer in 2009. The run is co-chaired by John J. Dougherty, Business Manger of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, and Jamie Apody, Action News Sports Reporter.

The Philadelphia Orchestra Volunteer Committees present their biennial fundraising event, Perfect Harmony: A Festive Fusion of Friends, Music, and Merriment on Friday, May 5, at the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s Perelman Building. Chaired by Betsy Crowell, Esther Schwartz, and Lisa Weber-Yakulis, the evening includes cocktails, buffet supper catered by Stephen Starr Events, musical presentations by members of the Orchestra, and an opportunity to view two exhibits: “Paris Through the Window: Marc Chagall and His Circle” and “The Peacock Male: Exuberance and Extremes in Masculine Dress.”
