WHAT:                21st Annual Home Runs for Heart in honor of Richie Ashburn, legendary Hall of Fame Philadelphia Phillies player and broadcaster, who died of a heart attack in 1997. Members of the public are invited to take 20 swings from the home plate at Citizens Bank Park, then have the opportunity to take a 30-minute turn at fielding.

Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of Philadelphians and physical inactivity doubles the risk. The American Heart Association’s Healthy For Good movement helps Philadelphians get moving and reduce risk by creating a culture of physical activity.

 

Home Runs for Heart directly supports not just this campaign, but also funds groundbreaking research at our local hospitals and universities along with lifesaving educational programs across our City of Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection.
