FONA and the Washington Youth Garden present seven free evenings of music in the Meadow for the 2017 Summer Evenings at the U.S. National Arboretum. Pack a picnic, bring a lawn chair or blanket, and relax below the Capital Columns. All these events hosted by the Friends of the National Arboretum are free, BUT reservations are required. Gates open at 6:00 PM. Please enter through the R Street NE Gate (GPS: 2400 R Street NE, Washington, DC 20002). Sorry, dogs and alcohol are not permitted.
Artist Biography
John was a member of the United States Army Band for several years. He performed throughout the United States and abroad with various renowned artist such as Phillis Dillar, Stephanie Mills and Marvin Sapp just to name a few. Sax Williams recently premiered his debut single release, FRIDAY MORNING, a R&B / Smooth Jazz instrumental in the United Kingdom. His upcoming CD: HEART FELT, includes the FRIDAY MORNING single and others which are being co-produced by the Grammy nominated producer Herb Middleton and the three time Emmy Award winning producer, Bill Jolly. John attributes his musical influences to the sounds of Benny Goodman, John Coltrane, Grover Washington Jr. and George Howard.
