Ever wanted to watch a battle unfold from above? The Battle of Cowpens will come to life at the Museum this afternoon…in very small scale.  235 years ago today, the Continental Army won a dramatic victory over the British Army near the town of Cowpens, South Carolina.  The American leader, Brigadier General Daniel Morgan, used his knowledge of the landscape and strategic and deceptive choices to outwit and outmaneuver the Redcoats commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Banastre Tarleton.  Morgan was an experienced commander; Tarleton was young, but had had brilliant successes.  On January 17, 1781, the stage was set for a dramatic battle and…You Are There.  Drop in as David Fisher, owner of Your Hobby Place, leads a miniature re-enactment scenario of the Battle of Cowpens.  The Spy Museum’s historian, Dr. Vince Houghton will be on-hand to answer questions about the battle and its significance in the Revolutionary War.
