9th Annual Bulle Rock Turkey Trot

On Thanksgiving, burn off calories and raise money for a great cause by participating in the 9th Annual Bulle Rock Turkey Trot benefiting the Susquehanna Hose Company.

This 5K run and 1-mile walk are open to the public for all age groups and fitness levels. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m., a warm-up will occur at 8:40 and the races will kick off at 9:00.

The 5K course will weave through the resort-style community and Bulle Rock Golf Course on paved roads and paths. A costumed turkey will greet participants and cheer them on at the finish line. The course will be well marked with monitors along the way, and Elite Race Management will record each participant’s finish times. Taking a different path, the 1-mile walk will accommodate those with strollers, pets and wheeled devices.

At approximately 10:30 a.m., prizes will be awarded to 5K winners in the following age categories: overall top 3 male and top 3 female, and top 3 male and female for ages 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30 -39, 40-49, 50- 59 and 60+. The youngest and the oldest participants also will receive an award.

Registration includes refreshments and prizes, as well as a special collector Raven’s Purple long-sleeve logo T-shirts for those registered before Nov. 15.

The first eight Bulle Rock Turkey Trots raised over $75,000, which was used to purchase new emergency equipment for The City of Havre de Grace and the Susquehanna Hose Company, including Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), carbon monoxide detectors for those who can’t afford them, hydraulic rams, rescue and escape units.
