The Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefigher (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers.
Following in the footsteps of an American hero to honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty!
The Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk NYC is approximately 3.5 miles long.
The Run & Walk starts at 9:30 AM SHARP on Sunday, September 27th.
The Run & Walk starts on Hamilton Avenue and continues to the entrance of the Hugh L. Carey Tunnel toll plaza and proceeds through the tunnel. Once exiting the tunnel, the course proceeds north onto West Street, left onto Liberty Street, to Battery Park Esplanade, right to North Esplanade and right (east) onto Warren Street to Southbound on West Street and finishing at Murray and West Streets.
