Honorees at the Gala will receive Victory Awards® for their courage in facing the challenges of overcoming disabilities. One of this year’s honorees is CNN’s Miles O’Brien, an amputee. Also being honored: CareerBuilder.com founder Rob McGovern, who suffered a brain injury in a car accident; and 19-year-old Nick Balenger, a George Mason student and baseball pitcher, who suffered a spinal cord injury in a surfing accident in Hawaii – and is walking again.

All proceeds from this year’s Gala will support the new National Center for Brain Injury and Stroke Rehabilitation & Research, which is to be housed in a new addition at MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital in D.C. The Center will help maintain the network’s national leadership position in brain injury rehabilitation and research.
