Help reclaim the future for millions by participating in the Eastern Shore Walk to End Alzheimer’s®. Hosted by the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Maryland Chapter, the event provides an opportunity for the community to learn about Alzheimer’s disease and how to get involved with this critical cause, from advocacy opportunities and clinical trial enrollment, to support programs and services.
With Susan Purnell (Kuhn’s Jewelers) as Honorary Chair, and Bill Martin (Martin ERA Associates) and Jim Volk (Hileman Real Estate) as Co-Chairs, the event kicks off with registration at 9 a.m. Everyone is encouraged to arrive early to enjoy food and refreshments provided by Lankford Sysco, Giant Food and Panera Bread; live entertainment from local band, Thin Ice, and fun activities for the family.
At 10 a.m., WMDT-TV Weekend Anchor Wayne Stafford will emcee a powerful opening ceremony focusing on the mission of the Alzheimer’s Association and honor those affected by Alzheimer’s disease. Then, walkers will have the choice of taking a 3- or 1/2-mile path. Everyone is encouraged to stay afterward for additional refreshments and entertainment. Participants can register as individuals or teams. Registration is free and those who raise at least $100 will receive a Walk to End Alzheimer’s t-shirt.
