A peek into the Restaurants at the Horseshoe Casino Baltimore-Part 1Guy Fieri’s Baltimore Kitchen & Bar

This is the first in our CITYPEEK.com series peeking into the restaurants in the new Horseshoe Baltimore Casino. But first a little background on the casino.

CAESAR's Horseshoe Baltimore Casino—located downtown, near the City’s professional sports venues and the Inner Harbor, is an economic engine that offers new jobs, additional revenues, and will fuel millions of dollars in new development throughout the surrounding area.

Horseshoe Baltimore Casino features 122,000 square feet of gaming space, including 2,500 video lottery terminals, 100 table games, and a 25-table World Series of Poker-branded poker room. There is over 7,200 SF of rental space available for public parties.

As a city-integrated casino, Horseshoe Baltimore hopes to maximize connectivity with existing hospitality operators, neighboring sports venues (M&T Bank Stadium and Oriole Park at Camden Yards), and Baltimore’s famed Inner Harbor. They have a firm committment to integrate themselves into the local hospitality community, thus no hotel will be build on site for the next five years.

My first review takes my to Guy Fieri’s Baltimore Kitchen & Bar. Chef Guy Fieri’s, aka the self-professed, "Culinary Rock Star," has opened Guy Fieri’s Baltimore Kitchen & Bar. The colorful spot that houses 330 seats is impressive looking with a wall of multiple 60 inch, multiple TV’s with sports on each, loud music, high ceilings, large bar, specialty place settings offers guests a taste of Fieri’s signature cuisine. The buzzing open kitchen, with a well-oiled staff trained to produce quickly, serves food that has Fieri’s traditional bold flavors and American dishes with a twist. Be hungry, the portions are huge.

Open daily from breakfast to late night/early morning, the 330-seat Guy Fieri’s Baltimore Kitchen & Bar offers a blend of casual foods, with a large extensive variety of impressive looking burgers. The winner of the New York City’s 2013 Burger Bash looks tasty: It is a gargantuan burger topped with crispy applewood bacon, six-cheese mac, lettuce, tomato, pickle and a slab of melted cheese on a garlic, toasted brioche bun. Another was the turkey burger known as TATTED-UP TURKEY BURGER

Named as an homage to Guy’s tattoos. It is smashed, grilled turkey meat with poblanos and pepper jack, topped with Gouda cheese, ancho bacon, sweet pepper red onion jam, lettuce, tomato, pickle, donkey sauce, served on the house, pretzel bun. All burgers come with seasoned homemade fries.

Next to my table was a lady who got soup and a half order of rack of ribs. She was overwhelmed with the portion and left with a to-go box. It being late afternoon, I opted for an appetizer, called a “Sharable” on the menu; the Won-Tacos. I would describe is as tuna sashimi with a mango-jicama salsa packed into a freshly made wonton taco shell and topped with a wasabi crème.  I personally found this choice out of this world and would definitely order it again. The flavor profile was perfection.

Next, I will give you insight into the area downstairs called the Baltimore Marketplace, where some local restaurants and specialty food shops are biting into the Horseshoe Casino foodie scene.
