La Nuit en Rose- A evening of Sipping & Swirling Rose Wines

Primary tabs

Have you gone to the other side and fallen in love with the latest trend in wine-rosé? You know, it's not your mother's white zinfindel! Rose varietals are taking over Spring and Summer wine lists worldwide in great popularity. How would you like to sip and swirl over 50+ rose wines while cruising down the waterways of NYC? Thanks to La Nuit En Rosé, on June 13-14, in New York City, you can cruise in the Summer sun, with a glass, or 2, of rosé in hand aboard the luxury Hornblower Hybrid Yacht.

The brainchild of wine entrepreneur Pierrick Bouquet, La Nuit En Rosé is the U.S.’s first large-scale wine event dedicated to Rosés from around the globe taking place on June 13 and 14, 2014. Guests will sip and swirl rosés from around the world, including France, Italy, the U.S., Spain, Chile, South Africa, Lebanon, Turkey, Morocco, and Argentina. Many of the wines have not yet been sampled in the U.S. before. Here is a to-date listings of the brands offered:  http://nuitrose.com/participating-wineries.

Choose from the following :

DAY 1PM to 5PM: Take in the summertime sun during our daytime celebration. Sip on the world’s finest Rosé wines while taking in the sights of downtown New York City and listening to live music. Cruises begin at 2pm and sail until 3:30pm.

NIGHT 7PM to 11PM: Prepare for a night of wine tasting, dancing, and cruising around the city. Enjoy views of the lit-up Manhattan skyline and explore some of the best rosé wines from around the world. Cruises begin at 8pm and sail until 9:30pm.

A bit of wine knowledge:

“Rosés” can range from ruby red to the softest strawberry blonde, from flat to sbubbles, from bone dry to sweet. Why are California rosés different than those from Provence? The Italian rosés from those from Spain? The styles and tasting profiles of each are as varied and complex as any varietal and have skyrocketed in popularity. And, rosé and champagne do mix. You must try the French rosé champagnes. My pick on this list is the Nicolas Feuillatte.

The food pairings include oysters provided by the Brooklyn Oyster Party, cheese and charcuterie provided by wine bar Vin sur Vingt; a selection of ice-cream and a pink rosé wine infused ice-cream from The Tipsy Scoop; and Canelés and French pastries by Céline.

Guests can purchase wines directly from event partner and renowned wine merchant Zachys at the event using iPads or their personal mobile phones. Concierges will guide consumers through this process, and after the event, Zachys will handles all orders and shipments. The event will expand to additional U.S. cities in 2015.

Cheers!
