Heavy Seas Alehouse Sails in to Rosslyn, Virginia

Primary tabs

Heavy Seas Beer (formally known as Clipper City Brewery) was born in Baltimore, so it is only right that their first brew pub was also opened in its native town in 2012. Locals have flocked to enjoy the vastly popular beer on their own turf. Now, congratulations are in order to Team Heavy Seas Alehouse, c/o Vince Cassini and Chef Matt Seeber, and Beer Kingpin, Hugh Sisson and his son, Patrick Dahlgren, on the anticipated opening of their second HS Alehouse in Rosslyn Virginia. Yes, Northern Virginians may now enjoy the unpretentious, popular gastro, brew pub location in the posh Arlington/Rosslyn area of Virginia by February 17.

As per facebook page, expect the doors to swing open soon. "We are shooting for mid-February."

Known as a true beer-aficianado favorite, tucked away on Central Avenue in Baltimore's Little Italy-Fell Point neighborhoods, the partners' dream of expansion came true with the opening of Rowhouse Arlington last month at the corner of N. Oak Street and 18th Street. Guests can enjoy over 15 beers on tap, mostly from the Clipper City-Heavy Seas family, but also expect other local breweries to be features. Growlers are available for fill too.

Chef Seeber is a talented chef, imported from Philadelphia to open Heavy Seas in Baltimore and grow the brand. Trained under well-known chef Tom Colicchio, Seeber brings a wealth of talent, creativity and deliciousness to each dish he creates. Note, most dishes incorporate the Heavy Seas beer in its recipes and, when at all possible, fresh, local ingredients, making them even more novel and interesting. The new location features wood-burning grills. The restaurant can seat up to 175 people and there is a great outdoor patio and private dining room space.
