NDI 2013 Democracy Dinner

NDI's  2013 Democracy Dinner will honor individuals and organizations that have exhibited a sustained commitment to democracy and human rights, and have demonstrated leadership, integrity and courage in their dedication to democratic values and practices.

Technology is changing the way that citizens organize and that democracies function. NDI will present its Democracy Award to the “Civic Innovator,” in recognition of an emerging class of creative and entrepreneurial individuals who are using technology to help advance and improve democracy in the digital age.

Speakers include Jack Dorsey, chairman and founder of Twitter; Samantha Power, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and Madeleine K. Albright, former secretary of state and NDI chairman; Tom Daschle, former Senate Democratic leader and NDI vice chair; and The Honorable Toomas Hendrik Ilves, president of Estonia.
