FULL TILT BREWING Announces Berger Cookie Chocolate Stout Beer

Primary tabs

One of my most favorite things, passed down to me from my great Grandfather, Henry Sonneborn, III is the delectable, chocolaty, BERGERS COOKIE. Founded in 1835 by German Immigrant Family, Henry Berger, the cookie has reached nearly iconic stature. There was major panic when it suddenly went off the store shelves while a tax or permit "issue" closed the plant for a few weeks or so. Even Facebook pages like BRING BACK BERGER COOKIES surfaced. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Bring-Back-Berger-Cookies/361936160589108

Now items mixing the sweet treat can be found on menus throughout its hometown of Baltimore, Maryland. A new partnership just announced by FULL TILT BREWING who is working with the legendary BERGERS DeBaufre Bakeries, combining effort of cookies and beer. (Photo: Untappd.com) One of Baltimore’s newest craft beer producers, FULL TILT BREWING,  has released their first winter seasonal, “BERGER COOKIE CHOCOLATE STOUT.”   The public is invited on Friday, November 15th at The Admiral’s Cup in Fells Point, Maryland as the first pint of “Berger Cookie Chocolate Stout” will be poured at 7 pm sharp.  Berger Cookie draft pints will be sold for $5 all night.

Brewing their beers in Baltimore, FULL TILT tries to incorporate as much local flavor as possible into their beers as a tribute to the city they adore. Now, like the fudge and shortbread wafers themselves, "Berger and Full Tilt have collaborated to bring you the ultimate chocolate beer. This rich, creamy Sweet Stout will draw you in with its cookie aroma and leave you craving more after your last chocolaty sip," states Nick Fertig, co-owner.

In addition to the Berger Cookie beer on draft, FTB and The Admiral’s Cup will also be offering a cask version of the beer unfiltered and served at room temperature with bourbon-soaked oak chips added. Also, there will be two cases of FTB pint glasses given away to the first 48 patrons to order a Berger Cookie beer. FTB will also be supplying a hundreds of  Berger Cookies with which the Admiral’s Cup bartenders will be garnishing the glasses to complete the Berger Cookie and FTB collaborative experience.

As of right now this beer is slated to be served around the region as a seasonal offering through the winter. If it is a city favorite, expect it to hang around beer taps year-round.

Berger cookie is no stranger to being integrated into other menus.

Dangerously Delicious Pies created the Baltimore Bomb and it quickly climbed to a top selling position. Created especially for Baltimore by Dangerously Delicious Pie-slinger, Ariel Winter, along with owner Rodney Henry it is defined on their website "loaded with Berger Cookies (a local specialty) that melt down and swirl into a sweet vanilla cheese filling. This pie could be the ultimate of decadence."  This pie sells for $28.

New ice creamery, THE CHARMERY also has a BERGERS Cookie inspired flavor on the menu, Berger Cookies and Cream. Yes, please!

DEMPSEY'S BREW Pub: Find the Berger cookie ice cream sandwiches. A scoop of vanilla ice cream sandwiched between two Berger cookies, with the frosting side out.

THE YARD BAR in Marriott Inner Harbor Camden Yards serves a Berger cookie with malted milk.

GRAUL's Grocery Store attempts to make their own special BERGERS Cookie recipe. Very good, but not the best. Only the real thing fresh out of the box is the winner, in my book. You see, BERGERS Cookie is now just a cookie, its a BERGER COOKIE!
