The Unexpected Journey: Conversations With Richard Blanco & Shantell Martin

Live in the Grey, a new online destination for inspiration, information, and insight on how to follow your passion and do what you love, is hosting their next meetup at the brand new private workspace collective, Neuehouse. They have gathered two brilliant minds that have produced internationally acclaimed works of art and poetry to talk about life, career decisions, and the pursuit of passion.

Richard Blanco is an American poet, civil engineer, and teacher. He was selected by President Obama to read his original poem, "One Today" in the 2013 presidential inauguration. Blanco has also been featured on NPR, CBS, CNN, BBC and many other major media outlets, literary journals, and anthologies.

Shantell Martin is a New York-based visual artist known for "drawing on everything." Her light projections have been featured at the MoMA and at venues across Tokyo, London, and Russia. She has been featured in CNN, NBC, The New York Times, and has collaborated with celebrities, brands, designers, and musicians on a wide range of creative projects.

The evening will be filled with discussion on how these two trailblazers navigate their careers, face risk, collaborate with others, build relationships with mentors, and how they tapped into their creativity to explore their passions. Shantell and Richard will both perform their art during the event.

This event starts at 7:00 pm sharp! Beverages will be served.
