Arlington, VA [January 9, 2013]— EPIC Smokehouse joins forces with the Arlington County Fire Department and Port City Brewing Company on Monday, January 28, to raise funds and have fun – guest bartending. The event supports the 9/11 Tribute at Station 5, home of Engine, Truck and Medic 105. EPIC Fireman guest bartending kicks off at 6pm with firefighter Derek Spector behind the bar.
On August 29, 2010, the New York City Fire Department presented the Arlington County Fire Department with a steel beam from the ruins of the World Trade Center to commemorate the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. The Arlington County Fire Department was the lead agency in the response to the Pentagon attack. The steel beam, which is held at Fire Station No. 5, the nearest county fire station to the Pentagon, risks damage unless it is upheld by a more stable design. A percentage of drinks from this guest bartending event will be donated to the project.
One dollar from every sale of EPIC’s signature cocktails the Bacon Bourbon Old Fashion and Blackberry Lemonade, as well as Port City Brewing Company’s Monumental IPA, will be donated toward the 9/11 Tribute Fund. Boots will be set up on the bar to collect additional donations.
