NKF-MD 2013 Southern Delaware Kidney Walk

Benefitting the National Kidney Foundation of Maryland, the 2013 Southern Delaware Kidney Walk is a fun, inspiring, community fundraiser that calls attention to the prevention of kidney disease and the need for organ donation.

Participants can choose from a 3.2-mile paved trail or a shorter trail for strollers and wheelchairs. There will be a variety of festivities for all ages as well as doggie registration, face painting, children’s activities, and music. Refreshments will be provided, with beverages donated by Pepsi. 

Kristy Ferracci, a dialysis technician at F.M.C. Mid-Sussex in Georgetown who donated a kidney to her husband, will serve as the event chair.

Funds raised through Kidney Walk will directly support NKF-MD’s patient services, education and research efforts. More than 3,500 people participated in the 2012 Kidney Walk events, which raised over $370,000.
