In January Chef Ris Lacoste promised herself that she would walk an hour each day and with each step would raise $25,000 for the GW Women’s Heart Center. Since then friends, patrons and strangers have joined her in her daily walk, donating $1 with each mile towards the goal of better health and awareness for heart disease among women.
Lacoste is well on her way to her goal and on the Saturday after Thanksgiving she is asking all to join her for an hour to take a personal stride towards better health and in doing so say thanks to our nation’s veterans as well. The special walk will take participants from RIS, Lacoste’s eponymous neighborhood café in DC’s West End, to the National Mall and around the memorials to WWII and the Vietnam and Korean Wars, before returning to RIS for light refreshments.
Please RSVP by calling Natalie Christensen at 202-730-2500 or emailing her at natalie@RISdc.com
