This fall Legal Sea Foods announces tempting new cocktails just in time to toast Halloween and the holiday season on its Raising The Bar menu. The new batch of drinks highlights Legal’s culinary approach with the combination of fresh, quality fruit purées and pleasing, balanced combinations. To beat the chill on colder days, the popular restaurant will be offering some tempting hot toddies. These signature seasonal cocktails will be available until the beginning of April at all four Washington, D.C. area locations and prices range from $8 to $13.
Legal Sea Foods welcomes autumn with a Fish House Punch, incorporating Pierre Ferrand Ambre, Myer’s Dark rum, Mount Gay, Marie Brizard Peach, black tea and lemon. Sangria-lovers are in luck this season with Legal’s Sangria triplets for fall. Guests with loyalties to the classic Legal Sangria can enjoy the traditional Spanish wine punch made with red wine, seasonal fruit, and both Cruzan Citrus and Raspberry Rum, Marie Brizard Peach and lemon-lime soda. For those who prefer more citrus-infusion, Legal is offering a refreshing White Sangria of Sauvignon Blanc, St. Germain, lemonade, lemon-lime soda and lemon bitters, and an Apple Sangria that has distinctive fall flavors as it is made with sparkling apple cider, Domaine de Canton, Absolut Orient Apple, Gekkeikan Plum Wine with a hint of cinnamon. More delicious options include the Pomerita, of el Jimador Blanco Tequila, pomegranate, lime and agave nectar; Ginger Mac, a concoction of Michael Collins Irish Whiskey, Marie Brizard Apry, lemon, cinnamon and ginger beer, and the Moscow Mule, Russian Standard, Gosling’s Ginger Beer and muddled lime.
The Deadrise is a cocktail of disguise for Halloween. The name actually relates to the amount of V-shape in the bottom of a hull on a low profile boat, the type often used to harvest oysters. The Deadrise is made with Rain Organic Vodka mixed with fresh cucumber, lime, and grapefruit bitters creating a crisp and bright cocktail (a flavor profile which defies expectations associated with such a spooky name), perfect with fresh oysters at Legal Sea Foods’ raw bar.
For those looking for something to beat the chill, the Honey Apple Warmer is a tasty combination of Laird’s Applejack Brandy, Bärenjäger Honey Liqueur, spice box syrup, Angostura Bitters and hot water. Legal is also offering up the classic seasonal beverage, Hot Buttered Rum made with Myer’s Dark Rum, Appleton V/X Rum, spice box syrup, butter and hot water, and the Hot Toddy, Eagle Rare 10 year Legal Sea Foods Bourbon, honey and hot water. Finally dessert in a glass is a welcome ending to dinner. Legal’s Espresso Martini is the perfect blend of Kahlua, Stoli Vanil, Bailey’s Irish Cream and chilled espresso, and the Mexican Coffee with Patron X/O Café, cinnamon, coffee and whipped cream is also sure to please.
The new “Raising the Bar” cocktails are available at all four Legal Sea Foods locations in the Washington area including 704 7th Street, NW, Washington, D.C. (202) 347–0007; 2301 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Crystal City, Arlington, VA (703) 415-1200; Tysons Galleria in McLean, VA (703) 827-8900; and Westfield Shopping Mall in Bethesda, MD (301) 469-5900.
