José Andrés and his team at Oyamel Cocina Mexicana, located at 401 7th Street, NW, are excited to celebrate Mexican Independence Day with several delectable specials from September 14th through September 16th, available exclusively during dinner service. This holiday, celebrated on September 16th, is best known as the “Grito de Dolores”, or the “Cry for Independence”, the event that marked the beginning of the Mexican War of Independence from Spain. This year’s theme is “The States that Sparked Independence,” where patriotic states, such as Guanajuato, Puebla and Oaxaca, will be honored with menu specials native to their regions.
