Assaggi Osteria Hosts Third-Annual International Wine & Cheese Festival Tasting

Assaggi Osteria, located at 6641 Old Dominion Drive in McLean, VA, is excited to host its Third-Annual International Wine & Cheese Festival tasting event on Saturday, September 29th from 3 PM to 7 PM.  Priced at $50 per person in advance, or $75 per person at the door (tax and gratuity included), guests will enjoy four hours of leisurely wine and cheese tasting.  The featured cheeses are selected from around the world and include the following: Brie (France); Bocconcini (Latina); Drunken Goat (Spain); Ubriaco del Piave (Veneto, Italy); Cambozola (Germany); Pecorino Toscano (Tuscany); Aged Gouda (Holland); Gruyere (Switzerland); Provolone (Lombardia); Rosemary Havarti (Denmark); Manchego (Spain); Rogue Sharp Cheddar (California) and more.  The wine is provided from Siema Wine Imports, highlighting international wines from Austria, Italy, Spain, Oregon, California, Michigan, France, New Zealand, Switzerland, Idaho, Argentina, Hawaii and Washington State.  Featured wine varietals include Albarino; Chardonnay; Gruner Veltliner; Orvieto; Petit Manseng; Pinot Bianco; Pinot Grigio; Sancerre, Riesling; Sauvignon Blanc; Sauvignon Gris; Verdejo; Vermentino; White Merlot; Cherry Wine; Malvasia; Moscato d'Asti; Recioto di Soave; Blanc de Pinot Noir; Cava Brut; Pinot Brut; Prosecco; Sparkling Verdejo; Amarone; Barbaresco; Barolo; Brunello di Montalcino; Burgenland; Cabernet Sauvignon; Malbec, Old Vine Grenacha; Petit Verdot; Pinot Noir; Rioja; Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, as well as special blends Strepaticcio and Varvara.  Guests are invited to mingle with the importers and distributors of over 50 specially selected wines.  Participants will also have the opportunity to purchase discounted bottles of wine with pricing starting at $9 per bottle.  The pricing reflects a savings of $2 to $10 per bottle below retail value on the featured wines.
