12th Annual Taste of Carroll

Carroll Hospice, the nonprofit serving Carroll, Frederick and Baltimore counties, has announced that its premiere fundraising event, Taste of Carroll, will take place on Monday, May 9, 2011. A VIP reception featuring Alicia Sacramone, Olympic gymnast,will take place from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. while the general tasting event will occur from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Taste of Carroll is moving to a new location this year and will take place in Finksburg, Md. Gerstell Academy is generously hosting the event for Carroll Hospice.

Over 35 restaurants and wineries will be offering food and beverage samplings at this highly anticipated and always sold out event, the most Taste of Carroll has ever highlighted. Guests will be able to indulge in food and wine from Mia Carolina, Cygnus Wine Cellars, Bud’s at Silver Run, Grilled Cheese & Co, Starry Night Bakery and many more.

Taste of Carroll will also feature a live and silent auction throughout the night. Over 100 items are up for grabs in the auction, including: a week’s stay in vacation homes in St. Martin in the Caribbean and Deep Creek, Md, a chestnut filly horse from Scenic Vista Farm, a golf foursome at Piney Branch Golf Club and Raven’s tickets, among others. Highlights of the live auction include a five night cruise on Royal Caribbean, a trip to Napa Valley and tickets and accommodations to the ESPY awards in Los Angeles, CA.

Over the past 12 years, Taste of Carroll has raised over $800,000 dollars for Carroll Hospice. The proceeds help support inpatient and outpatient hospice care services as well as a full scope of bereavement programs provided to family members and the community at large.
