City of Hope's Walk for Hope to cure women's cancers on April 10th!

Welcome to the 2011 Walk for Hope Washington, DC!

New Location
The 2011 Walk for Hope will take place on April 10th at Pennsylvania Avenue at 3rd Street, NW.

Time
8 a.m. - Registration and check-in opens
10 a.m. - Walk begins

Getting to the Walk & Parking
We strongly encourage all Walkers to take Metro to Walk for Hope. The closest Metro stops are Archives-Navy Memorial-Penn Quarter (yellow/green), Judiciary Square (red) and Federal Center SW (blue/orange). View map with Metro stations.

If you must drive, your best bet for parking is at Union Station, located at 50 Massachusetts Avenue, NE. Parking is 24/7 access and will cost anywhere from $9 - $19, depending on how long you park. Street parking is not recommended because it frequently fills up quickly and it is often restricted to two hour parking. Please consider taking Metro.

Arrange for your team to meet in the Team Photo area before or after the Walk to capture the moment and celebrate your fundraising success with a Team Photo.

Design Your Sign!
It’s time to get creative. We encourage all of you to create a team sign, poster, or banner that you can bring with you to the Walk for Hope on April 10th. Team Signs are a great way to express the reasons your team is walking for a cure to women’s cancers. We will also have a DESIGN YOUR SIGN booth at the event if you wish to create a sign on the morning of the walk.

Survivor Activities
We welcome and honor our survivors -- our heroes at the Walk for Hope. Survivors are invited to join us at the "Walk for Hope Survivors Pavilion" on event day for some VIP treatment.

The Route
The route is 5K (3.1 miles long) and will take Walkers through some of the most historic and beautiful places in Washington, DC. Please check back soon for a route map.

Fundraising Tools and Ideas
We have a number of tools to help you start fundraising quickly and ensure success, such as email templates and tips on how to use social media like Facebook and Twitter. And most importantly, each registered participant receives their own customizable online fundraising site to garner support and manage all their donations. View all participant tools now.

General Reminders
Prepare for warm weather! Don’t forget sunscreen, hats and comfortable shoes.
Bring your camera! We will be collecting images from Walkers to post on the website after the event. Stay tuned for information on how to submit your pictures.
