Fat Lady Sings at Lyric, New Lunch option and fun events-cheers

Primary tabs

The Fat Lady at The Lyric Sings a New Name: More than 116 years after its opening, The Lyric Opera House is getting a reface and new name--The Patricia & Arthur Modell Performing Arts Center at The Lyric is named in honor of the couple's generous support of The Lyric's stage-house expansion project. Mr. Modell, former owner of the Baltimore Ravens, and his wife Pat, contributed $3.5 million to The Lyric's capital project. The Lyric Opera House supports the cultural vitality of the City and State through opera, Broadway productions, Gospel and urban theater, popular concerts, comedy and dance.  It has been the site for Artscape for 25 years.

Baltimore City Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake said "The Lyric is a Baltimore treasure, a core cultural asset and its oldest continuously operating theater. The City of Baltimore is proud to support The Lyric's capital project with $3 million in bond bill financing." The Lyric will celebrate the project's completion in fall 2011 creating a first-class theater, and with its 2,564 seats, will fulfill its potential to generate premier programming for the region. ~~~~~~~~~~~~

The menu is noted below and will change weekly...If you would like to join us, reservations can be made by calling the restaurant at (410) 322-7373 or visit us online at www.charlestonrestaurant.com. Complimentary valet parking is available to every guest.  ~~~~

MILAN Delighted us: Recently we had a great meal at MILAN in Little Italy. We savored a fresh cobb salad, lobster mac n cheese and vegetarian meatballs. The house cocktails were divine which we enjoyed downstairs in the sexy bar/lounge. Although the upstairs with its high ceilings and hardwood floors made it a bit loud, the hip, trendy environment made it all work together for a Saturday dinner. Highly recommend whether for a romantic hangout, group dinner or just hang at the bar. Say hi to Smittie!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
