April 16: High Tea Class and Tasting ($49)

Join GiraMondo for a special class and tasting on tea as we focus our attention on food and drinks other than wines for luncheon / afternoon events.

We will start our event with a quick game of tea facts and trivia. (the winner will take home a special box of tea)

Then, we are honored to welcome Elise Scott, one of only 23 certified Tea Masters in the US and owner of Pearl Fine Teas. Elise will present a number of interesting facts about teas, including:

  • The different types of teas and classifications
  • The geography of teas
  • The health benefits of tea in general
  • Blending and additives

We will taste 7 different teas, 6 representing the different categories of tea and one very rare vintage tea (like for wine, the most sought-after teas are vintage teas)

Our tea tasting will be accompanied by a selection of bit-size high-tea food items, including:

  • Tea sandwiches (egg sandwich, cucumber sandwich, chicken salad sandwich)
  • Savory Pound cake (olives & ham)
  • Lemon bar
  • Strawberries dipped in chocolate
