City of Rehoboth for NOT increasing the parking meter season or meter rates

Rehoboth Beach Main Street thanks the City of Rehoboth for NOT increasing the parking meter season or meter rates. On behalf of the business community in Downtown Rehoboth Beach, Rehoboth Beach Main Street met with representatives from the Rehoboth City Commission today regarding the rumor of increasing the parking meter season and rates.

I was excited to learn that there will be NO increase in the parking meter season or in the rates to park at a meter for 2010! I'm very thankful to the City of Rehoboth for delaying any increases this year and understanding that the meter schedule and rates really do impact our downtown business community. On a side note, it is important for employees of Downtown Rehoboth Beach businesses to leave the parking spaces in front the businesses open for their customers- and the customers of their neighboring businesses.

Please also remember that our area has fantastic public transportation system, such as the DART Park n' Ride and the Jolly Trolley. Utilizing these resources will leave more room for customers to park close to business storefronts. Please be encouraged to come to Downtown Rehoboth Beach to shop and dine, and become or continue to be a Friend or Member of Rehoboth Beach Main Street. Your support will help us to continue providing wonderful community events, economic development programs, architectural programs, and allow us to remain as a support system to our downtown business community.
