Baltimore Magazine, in its March issue on newsstands February 26, has named nine Restaurant Association of Maryland (RAM) members in the top 10 of its ‘50 Best Restaurants’ list.

“This list of 50 incredibly impressive culinary destinations in and around our state’s largest city is certainly proving to the world that Baltimore and Maryland are about more than just crab cakes,” said Paul Hartgen, president and CEO of the Restaurant Association of Maryland.  “Restaurants in Maryland have long lived squeezed between our larger, louder cousins in Philadelphia and Washington, DC, but we are quickly growing our own formidable dining reputation.”

The issue, featuring Baltimore’s ‘50 Best Restaurants,’ places Restaurant Association of Maryland members Charleston, Antrim 1844, The Black Olive, Cinghiale, The Prime Rib, Kali’s Court, Pazo, Linwoods and B&O American Brasserie in nine of the top 10 spots, while it names 27 other Restaurant Association of Maryland members in the top 50.

“The city of Baltimore has one of the highest concentrations of restaurants in the State of Maryland and we are very proud that Baltimore Magazine has recognized nine of our members in the top 10 spots of the list of 50,” Hartgen said. “This honor is a testament to the kind of commitment these restaurants make to their customers on a daily basis as well as to their industry.  Through the support of these 36 restaurants out of the top 50 in Baltimore, and the thousands of other member locations around the state, the Restaurant Association of Maryland is able to protect, promote and improve the industry as a whole—increasing revenue, creating jobs and giving even more back to the communities in which our industry serves.”

Baltimore Magazine rated this year’s ‘50 Best Restaurants’ on five criteria: food, service, ambiance, price and creativity.
