BOCCACCIO of LITTLE ITALY SOLD! Hours ago, a piece of Baltimore history exchanged hands as BOCCACCIO'S Restaurant of Little Italy was sold at the auction block for $1,450,000. Orchestrated by AJ Billig & Co, the sale included turn-key operation along with parking lot, wine cellar, 7 day liquor liscence and working kitchen and even the artwork on walls.

Noted purchaser was thought to be a 'prominent, high profile attorney' who was represented by phone with a bidder on site. We confirmed it and yes, it is PETER ANGELOS, the proud new owner who was determined that the local institution is preserved.

"I believe the sale price was less than what we believe the value of the property is worth, "states Giovonna Aquia of Cafe Gia where we feasted on a grilled caesar with salmon prepared perfectly by Chef Gianfranco for lunch after the sale. Giovanna mentioned that she had her very own table known as "Gia's table" in the dining room where she conducted important meetings, meals with friends and sealed memories."

Little Italy Restaurant Owners/Managers seen in attendance were Nino Germano of  LA SCALA RISTORANTE (check out their new Salumeria), Giovonna Aquia of CAFE GIA, Mary Ann Cricchio of DaMimmo, Joe Di Pasquale, architect Peter Fillat, MO'S SEAFOOD's Farhad Jafari. Also saw  Rob Roblin and his TV 11 crew. See WBAL Video of BOCCACCIO Auction: www.wbaltv.com/video/22594854/index.html
