Hello Nation's Capital! HAPPY HOLIDAYS Washington DC area. We enjoyed not just the Baltimore Washington Monument Lighting but also seeing the National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

The annual lighting ceremony was held on December 3, 2009. Nationally known entertainers performed and the President brought a message of peace to the nation and the world. Performers included Grammy award winner Sheryl Crow, hip-hop artist, actor and author Common, country artist Ray LaMontagne, American Idol Jordin Sparks, Jazz artist and saxophonist Joshua Redman, Jazz pianist Brad Mehldau and International Irish music phenomenon Celtic Woman.

Visit the National Christmas Tree Throughout the Holiday Season

The National Christmas Tree and the Pathway of Peace is illuminated each evening from dusk until 11 p.m. through January 1st. Seasonal displays include a Yule log, a large-scale model train and a Christmas manger. Musical performances by volunteer choirs and dancers, will be held nightly on the Ellipse stage. Weeknight performances will be performed from 6-8:30 p.m. Weekend performances will be performed from 4-8:30 p.m. (202) 208-1631. The seasonal display includes Santa's Workshop, which will be open at select times so that children can visit with Santa. Tickets are only required for the lighting ceremony.
Find the tree: The Ellipse near The White House The closest Metro stations to the White House are Federal Triangle, Metro Center and McPherson Square. Parking is very limited in this area, so public transportation is recommended.

Recently visited with Gregory Casten of Pro Fish. Wow-what a cool spot his Tony and Joe's Seafood Restaurant at the Georgetown Waterfront, Washington, DC housed in the National Harbor, right next to Sequoia and it's sister restaurant Nick's Riverside Grille: Georgetown Waterfront Restaurant, DC. Gregory also owns Cabana's Mexican Restaurant of DC, Kaufman's Tavern in Gambrills, Maryland and Rockish in Annapolis amongst others in his PRO FISH family.

What a view of the DC National Harbor, its beautiful fountain lit up on a balmy December evening where we enjoyed the Restaurant Association of DC meeting which was run by Lynne Breaux and Kelly Morris, marketing/pr extraordinaire. We chatted it up with Nicoloe of Taberna del Alabardero, Scott Attman of Acme Paper, many chefs.

We ended our evening 2 miles down the road where we camped out @ the The Madison Hotel in DC is pet-friendly, Loews Washington DC Luxury Hotel in DC.
