Tartans & Tidings will be a festive and formal holiday gathering held on December 11, 2010 at the elegant Evergreen Museum & Library Carriage House. This magnificent 19th Century Gilded Age estate will be the backdrop for a 4-hour celebration which will help support the not-for-profit after-school academic enrichment and athletic instruction program for inner city youth, Baltimore SquashWise.

The KatherineAlexandra Foundation and Wexler Gallery present the In My Body Project Roundtable Discussion, an inspirational conversation addressing body image and esteem issues. The roundtable discussion and brunch will take place at Wexler Gallery (201 N. 3rd Street, Philadelphia) on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. Members of the community and an expert panel, including specialists in the physical and mental health, wellness, fashion, beauty and entertainment industries, will share ideas in an attempt to answer the question, “Are we ever truly at home in our own bodies?”

A Flamboyance of Flamingos will feature Baltimore poets who have written pieces centered on the Hampden flamingo icon, and will feature music by Midway Fair, the Baltimore String Felons, and Vib. A Flamingo-Calling contest will bring out the best ornithological vocalization talent the city has to offer. Featured readers include over a dozen poets from around the Baltimore area, with backgrounds in writing, editing, music, art, multimedia, videography, event organizing, playwriting, blogging, theater, and more.

Tour five of Charm City's finest bed and breakfasts decorated for the holidays! Visitors will be treated to light refreshments at each stop along the way. Participating B&Bs include 1840s Carrollton Inn, Celie's Waterfront Inn, Inn at 2920, Rachael's Dowry and Scarborough Fair. Tickets: $25 in advance, $30 at the door. Shuttle service between B&Bs, add $10 (hop-on, hop-off). Please, no children under 13.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit Santa Claus Anonymous, a Baltimore non-profit charity.
