The Great American Dream Home Raffle

The Universal Peacemakers Foundation – an Upperco, Md.-based non-profit organization that recently expanded its economic and social services to help those who are at risk of home foreclosure – has launched The Great American Dream Home Raffle™ in partnership with renowned custom home builders, Prestige Development, Inc. “Foreclosure rates in Maryland are staggering. With 1 in 600 families in mortgage default, we as humanitarians must step up to the plate and intervene in every way we can,” said Minister Robert Brantley, managing director of The Universal Peacemakers Foundation, which has provided training, educational, charitable and counseling services focusing on crisis and conflict resolution in a faith-based setting since 1994. “These are not simply statistics; these numbers represent parents, grandparents, brothers and friends who are at risk of losing the roof over their heads,” Brantley continued. “Our mission is to help and give hope to as many needy families as possible; and to provide them with assistance ranging from loan negotiation, education, and when necessary, financial aid to prevent the loss of their home.” Prestige Development is making available the newly constructed $1.6 million model home at its Brighton Hills community for the raffle. “I feel it is imperative to give back to the community and help those who are in need,” said Alan Klatsky, president of the Owings Mills-based, Prestige Development, Inc. “The Universal Peacemakers Foundation is a small, grassroots organization that provides wonderful services. In the interim, Susquehanna Bank is holding all money collected from sales of the raffle tickets.
