Get out your walking shoes and bring your whole family to walk with a purpose to end Alzheimer’s. Mingle with Keyote, the Frederick Keys mascot, and Freddy Post, the Frederick News-Post News Hound. Enjoy music, light food and refreshments, free massages, a magic show, pumpkin decorating, face painting, and more. Pay tribute to loved ones by planting your hand-crafted Forget-Me-Not flowers in the “Garden of Memories.” Following warm-up exercises, NBC 25 Reporter Jeannie Flitner will announce the top three fundraising teams and top three fundraising individuals. Then, cheerleaders will lead off the one-or three-mile walk from the Maryland School for the Deaf through downtown Frederick and back. Everyone is encouraged to stay after the walk for additional refreshments, entertainment and a brief closing ceremony. Register early, either as teams (five+ members) or individually. Registration is free and available online. The Alzheimer’s Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s research, care and support.
