MEMORY BALL 2009 Baltimore Saturday, Apr. 18, from 7 p.m. to midnight
Co-chaired by Joyce Kuhns and Jane Sewell, the black-tie optional gala will feature a cocktail reception, full-course dinner, live music by Highway Star and a dance competition emceed by Steve Rouse (radio and TV personality) and Sherrie Johnson (ABC2 News morning reporter and fill-in anchor)
Dancers will perform before a panel of judges including: Media Personality Downtown Diane, Style Magazine Editor Brian Lawrence and Towson University Dance Instructor Jacqueline Marhefka.The dancers will vie to win trophies for the best technical skill and for fundraising success. They can earn votes from friends, family and associates online at www.alz.org/maryland prior to the event and by the audience at the Ball. Each vote costs one dollar.
Another highlight will be an award presentation to Dorothy Hamill as a thank you for lending her name to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s disease throughout Maryland and raising funds for the chapter. Corporate sponsor Pizza Hut of Maryland, Inc. will present a $5,000 gift in Hamill’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association to support research efforts.
Event proceeds will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association’s many programs and services, as well as raise awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders, which now affects more than 85,000 people in Maryland.
