I went to lunch at Matsuri Japanese Restaurant today for sushi and was suprised and pleased with a new special--the lobster roll salad served on a bed of seaweed salad with tempura flakes and roe spooned in it along with avacado chucks. A perfect combination. Dreamy!

I grew up in Federal Hill, and had my first sushi at Matsuri. Finding sushi elsewhere that is comparable has been a difficult task. To begin, their hand rolls have exquisite presentation. I look forward to picking up a spicy roll combo or vegetable udon soup whenever I'm in the neighborhood because the ingredients are always fresh and the tastes are always bold. A great specialty roll to try is dynamite roll.

I saw Matsuri on Citypeek and tried it after drinks in Fed Hill. Great rolls and a fun presentation. Really fresh ingredients, and a great place to take a date. Been three times now and I think it's by far Baltimore's Best Sushi. Soon with the summer weather I'm getting take out to watch the harbor and enjoy sushi.
