The National Aquarium www.aqua.org  in Baltimore seeks to stimulate interest in, develop knowledge about, and inspire stewardship of aquatic environments. A member of the Baltimore community, Maryland's leading tourist attraction, and an international icon, the Aquarium provides cultural, recreational, and educational experiences that meet the needs of diverse communities. the triangular glass building that remains a familiar sight along the Baltimore waterfront.

All four levels of the museum showcases marine mammals, amphibians, birds and fish. The Baltimore aquarium features dolphin performances, over 10,000 sea creatures, rain forest with exotic birds, dart frogs, live piranhas and a running stream, a petting area, a coral reef exhibit. The Shark pool offers visitors a close view of the sharks as they swim about. The highlight is the impressive new exhibit Animal Planet Australia: Wild Extremes, highlighting Australia’s Northern Territory; the Aquarium Cafe and Aquarium Shop. Outdoors, visitors can also simulate a journey from Maryland’s Eastern Shore to the Allegheny Mountains in the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Waterfront Park.
