Picturing the Promise - Making Photo and Memory Quilts at Lamond-Riggs Public Library:

Participants learn to take the first step in assembling story-telling quilts by creating their own quilt squares using personal images and text. The workshop is led by documentary quilt maker Joan M. E. Gaither of the Maryland Institute College of Art. Prior quilting experience is not required. Participants are invited to bring personal photos to scan onto their quilt squares.

Music for the Ages Community Concert at Annapolis Senior High School:

Discover the music of African American composers of the 19th and 20th centuries at the Music for the Ages Community Concert. Featuring choirs, dancers, and bands from schools and community organizations around Anne Arundel County, this concert will have you tapping your feet and ready to join in the performance. This program is offered by the Banneker-Douglass Museum and Annapolis Senior High School.

Ladies Hats and Tea: Changing Perspectives at The Banneker-Douglas Museum:

Put on your best hat and come celebrate women's history month at the Bates Legacy Center at the 3rd Ladies Hats and Tea. The Banneker-Douglass Museum, Bates Legacy Center, and the Northern Arundel Cultural Preservation Society, Inc. (NACPS) are joining together to offer an afternoon of celebration. Participants of all ages are invited to honor their heritage during an event featuring a formal tea, fashion show, inspirational speakers, and musical performances.

Wine Tasting Series at Lee-Fendall House Museum & Garden: The Lee-Fendall House is Alexandria's oldest Lee family home and is celebrating its 225th anniversary in 2010. From 1785 until 1903, the house served as home to thirty-seven members of the Lee family. Now restored to its early Victorian elegance, the house is interpreted as a Lee family home of the 1850-1870 period, presenting an intimate study of 19th century family life.
